The Shelley Hoon Keith Quiet Study Lounge, located on the second floor of the Student Center, has a beautiful view of Westhaver Park. There are work tables and comfortable chairs for students to use for individual study. This space hosts campus events including guest speakers, book signings and academic breakout sessions for Homecoming and Family Weekend.

Art Gallery

The Lounge also doubles as an exhibit space for the Curry College Fine and Applied Arts Department.  Year-round, the walls of the lounge display artwork created by students and faculty as well as feature the works of various professional artists from New England and beyond.  Many of these exhibits are kicked off with receptions to celebrate the artists' accomplishments.

Art exhibitions play a very important role in the life of an active campus. Their primary function is to educate and enlighten and they become vital and integrated links with the community as well.

In addition to exhibiting student and faculty work, exhibits which show fine, professional art bring important ideas from the outside world to the Curry College campus.

Although the focus should always be on the aesthetic value of the work, the exhibitions can tie into many areas of the curriculum. Professors who teach politics, history and courses dealing with social issues can find artwork a wonderful resource. It may even be used as a source of inspiration for the writer as well, among other academic disciplines.
