Accountant Heather Gaudette '18

Current Position: Accountant, AKD Consultants (Greater Boston)

Major: Accounting

Internship: BDO USA - Boston

Favorite Professor + Pivotal Internship = Dream Career

As a high school senior, Heather Gaudette '18 initially had her heart set on a big university. But when she visited Curry College, she immediately felt at home.

"When I met Business Management Professor Ernie Silver, he remembered my name and details of my application," she says. "That was eye opening."

Heather enrolled as a Business Management major but ultimately changed to Accounting, thanks to the influence of another professor.

"When I got to Curry, I met Prof. Elizabeth Delano-Dykas," Heather says. "She changed my whole perspective and really opened my eyes to accounting. I learned she did estate and financial planning, and I decided that is the route I want to take."

Heather successfully completed an internship at one of the world's largest tax firms, BDO USA, which she says gave her experience and confidence.

"I learned so much at BDO - Boston," she says. "It was challenging, but now I know that I can figure out even the most complex problems."
