Ernest A. Silver, Professor and Chair of the Department of Management at Curry College in Milton, Massachusetts, is a graduate of Northeastern University and Babson College. As a member of the Curry College faculty, Professor Silver has served on many College-wide committees, including Regional Accreditation, Continuing Education Outreach, Strategic Planning, and other institutional committee assignments. Along with members of the Management faculty, Mr. Silver has been an active participant in the redesign of the Curry College Management Major Program.
In addition to teaching at the college level, Mr. Silver is an independent management consultant who specializes in issues related to small business management, and he has extensive experience consulting to family-owned businesses. He is skilled in assisting entrepreneurs in creating strategic Business, Marketing, and Financial Plans; restructuring debt; conducting market research; developing systems and procedures; and motivating and training employees. He is frequently called upon to assist troubled businesses with restructuring and rebuilding; his hands-on approach enables clients to make the accommodations and changes required for survival and profitability.
For thirty years he has been called upon to conduct seminars and workshops entitled, "How to Start and Manage a Small Business," and has lectured to groups of business professionals throughout New England. He has been a guest speaker at many conferences and is the author of "The Small Business Handbook - A Guide for Entrepreneurs".
