Academic ExcellenceDr. Emily Nowicki joins the Department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics as an Assistant Professor. After receiving her PhD in Molecular Genetics and Microbiology from The University of Texas at Austin in 2015, she continued at UT Austin as both a Postdoctoral Fellow and Lecturer. Dr. Nowicki is trained in bacterial genetics, microbial molecular biology and biochemistry, and next generation sequencing sample preparation and analysis. Her research interests include understanding the genetic requirements for bacterial survival in their natural environment, including but not limited to soil microorganisms. Dr. Nowicki is excited to join the Curry College community, and seeks to actively engage students through both classroom activities and research.
