Academic ExcellenceDr. Amanda Kennedy joined the Sociology/Criminal Justice Department as an Assistant Professor in 2016. She also acts as coordinator of the Women's and Gender Studies program. Dr. Kennedy graduated with her PhD from Stony Brook University. Her research interests include Gender Studies, Health and Medicine, Sexuality, and Embodiment. Dr. Kennedy is an Editor/Co-Creator of the Masculinities 101 blog, and co-edited the Cultural Encyclopedia of the Penis. Her current projects include writings on rethinking activist bodies, a postcolonial analysis of male circumcision policies, and an examination of feminist research on pornography.
