A Rigorous Curriculum

Your first two semesters will include "core" graduate nursing courses. The 35-credit program is comprised of the following 12 courses:

The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree is a 35 credit, four semester program.
Select courses will be offered in a hybrid format combining in-class and online learning activities.

* Course taken during this semester based on student's concentration.

What is Cohort Study?

As a student in the Curry College MSN Program, you will be part of a cohort group. That means that the same students will be in all of your classes for the entire program, start to finish. Cohort group learning has proven to be very effective for adult learners because it creates a community of professionals who can study together, provide support, discuss common on-the-job problems, and offer networking opportunities.

Curry College's Nursing Administration curriculum emphasizes what it takes to lead healthcare organizations focused on quality, efficiency and excellence in the practice of patient care.  Next-generation Nurse Administrators keep current with technological advances and emerging medical knowledge while minimizing errors. Administrators must also know how to use leadership skills, evidence-based practice and decision analysis to anticipate risks, understand technology and maintain patient safety.  Integral to the curriculum, the practicum experience allows students to apply skills learned in the classroom.  Through the capstone experience, students collaborate with faculty on a focused scholarly project and broaden their understanding of a contemporary leadership issue.  When you pursue your MSN at Curry College, you'll enhance your strategic leadership skills and acquire the necessary tools for career success as a leader in your field.

MSN Program Outcomes:

1. Implement strategies based on advanced reasoning and theory designed to improve quality and reduce risk within health care environments.
2. Evaluate, translate and disseminate current nursing research designed to improve outcomes and increase nursing's body of knowledge.
3. Analyze effectiveness of collaborative communication, teamwork strategies and information technologies designed to influence health-related outcomes.
4. Advocate for ethical practice based on knowledge of professional standards, scope of practice, and distributive justice.
5. Demonstrate leadership in effecting change in educational and healthcare systems through collaboration and advocacy at the local, state, national and global levels.
6. Integrate academic and experiential knowledge, skills and attitudes into the advanced professional practice role.
